C.A. Curtze Earns Top Honor
C.A. Curtze, Erie, Pennsylvania, received the UniPro Foodservice 2012 Key Distributor Award at UniPro’s Spring Purchasing Conference and annual Awards Luncheon held this year in Phoenix, Arizona. The Award was presented to C.A. Curtze by Roger Toomey, UniPro president and CEO.
The UniPro Key Distributor Award recognizes UniPro member companies for their increased participation in all of the UniPro programs, through purchasing growth, and support of key UniPro sales and marketing programs.
In the year 1878, Charles August Curtze opened his wholesale business, supplying foods and other merchandise to the retail merchants and the growing number of oil and lumber camps of that era. In 1960, the C.A. Curtze Company made the decision to devote 100% of its energies and resources to the rapidly growing and changing "Food Service" market. The company has grown into a full line foodservice distributor that distributes thousands of items from a modern 2 1/2 acre distribution center. Specialty Steak Service, the fresh meat division of Curtze, expanded in 1992 to its present 75,000 sq. ft. production facility.
C.A. Curtze has been a member of UniPro since 1962.
UniPro Foodservice is the nation’s largest independent foodservice distribution cooperative, with more than 650 member companies serving the foodservice industry from more than 900 distributor locations. UniPro members serve all segments of the foodservice industry, including independent restaurants, healthcare operations, schools, military bases, and convenience stores.
